About

Growing up, I was taught that community service wasn’t just something you did, it was something you lived for.

To give back to the community that helped raise you was a moral responsibility. That is why my parents—my dad, a former volunteer firefighter, and my mom, a lifelong educator and former 4th grade schoolteacher—pushed me from a young age to find ways to give back. Service isn’t just a word to me—it’s who I am and what I strive to do every day.

A childhood full of service led me to earn my Eagle Scout rank by the age of 16. Afterwards, inspired by the dedicated leadership of my mentors, I became an Assistant Scoutmaster and an Associate Adviser for Scouting in Central and Southern Ohio. This work will forever be one of my proudest accomplishments. Entering the workforce at a young age taught me the value of hard work, determination, and just how far a dollar can go. It was a good union job and a supportive family that gave me the ability to balance my work and community service, all while earning a degree from The Ohio State University.

As a lifelong resident of Johnstown, I’ve seen all the good that our communities can do. We deserve a State Senator who will be a voice for all of us, including our most vulnerable, and not leave anyone behind. Stronger communities can, and do, lead to stronger families. While helping on my family’s small farm, raising and showing sheep and goats at the county fair, I learned the real importance of “it takes a village.” Involving the community in agricultural traditions and growth are what led us to many successful years at the fair. Coming together to care for something larger than yourself is what I was raised on, and I believe that is what we need right now. We are a vast district with diverse needs, but we all share one thing: a love of community. Listening to folks in their own community, hearing what real struggles and issues impact their everyday lives, is one of the most important things a leader can do. When I’m elected, our district will have a strong, passionate, community-driven advocate in Columbus. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work—will you join me?
